WHAT IS ROTARACT ?

A Rotaract club is a Rotary sponsored club for 18-30 year-olds that fosters leadership and responsible citizenship, encourages high ethical standards in business, and promotes international peace and understanding.

HOW DID ROTARACT BEGIN ?

The first Rotaract club, the Rotaract club of the University of North Carolina, was founded on 13 March 1968. The club was sponsored by the Rotary club of North Charlotte, North Carolina.

Today, there are more than 7,088 clubs in over 150 countries worldwide.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

  • Formation of Interact Club at Tantramar Regional High School

  • "SWIPE" campaign for the Food Bank - $5,700 raised

  • Bone Marrow for Life campaign (with Canadian Blood Services)

  • Fund-raising to provide clothing for Botswana School Children

  • Participation in Rotary Youth Exchange Outbound Orientation

  • Participation in Town of Sackville Fall Fair

- Began in 2005.

- Chartered June 2006.

- Meets Thursdays 8 p.m.

- Has 15 active members

South East New Brunswick Rotaract members meet with Sackville Rotarians.
